Transaction TAANA is useful for a couple of things.
- For Table Analysis. E.g. to find out more on a table with respect to a specific field. It is flexible in a way where you can choose to analyze which fields in a particular table.
- It is also useful when you need to find the number of entries for very large tables, e.g. BSEG. Sometimes, you would encounter Runtime error because it takes longer than 300 seconds to get the number of entries via SE11 / SE16N.
- Click on Execute (Start table analysis)
- Enter Table Name, lets say EKKO
- Analysis Variant, click on Selection button, then select Ad-hoc Variant
- Choose the field(s) to be analyzed. In this case, it would be Company Code (So you can get the number of Purchase Orders created by Company Code)
- Click OK
- Processing Options, In the Background. Then Click OK Again.
- Start Time, Immediate then Save
- Analysis will be on the left and with a Green Flag once the job is completed.
